Our long-awaited, long-prepared-for, cross-country transition to the wilderness is officially underway you guys!
As many of you know, we've been preparing for over a year to leave modern life in eastern America for a life out west in one of the last true wildernesses of the lower 48, to build an off-grid homestead from scratch and live a quiet life.
I've self-educated and worked diligently on my portfolio and now have a stable business going where I can work from anywhere there's WiFi.
Eric has completed his CDL licensing and on-the-road training period to make him more valuable where we're going.
We've spent a long winter in Wisconsin planning, preparing, learning and implementing and now it's go time!
So we're now back in Kentucky, where Spring is in full force - flaunting gorgeous green sights and green smells all around, and we'll be here for one week spending time with loved ones, cleaning out storage units, possibly selling our vehicle, and just generally running around with our heads slightly cut off (I took on a design project, which maybe wasn't the best idea this week!).
Monday morning, we'll be locking ourselves inside a very large Penske truck and hitting those westward roads!
Once we get settled in out west, I'll make a post about how the voyage went - we've got some interesting things planned along the way, and some funny ways of going about things (you'll laugh when you see how we're going to save money on lodging!).
We'll be looking for land first thing, and we hope you'll come along as we settle on a property to build our dreams upon.
This is just a quick post to update everyone on what's going on since this is a pretty big step in the overall process.
Thanks for your patience while my blog posting is less frequent. I'll be blogging regularly once we get settled.
A lot of people have been asking me about making money online, so I think that's a topic I need to share more about.
Make sure to subscribe to the blog down below! Things should really start picking up now that we're actually going to be in the wilderness! Ah. That feels so good to type out.
Safe journeys everyone!
Until next time...
